Welcome to the UK Coalition for Cultural Diversity, the UK’s leading civil society forum of creators and cultural organisations promoting the Convention for the Protection and the Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (2005). This groundbreaking treaty is the first to champion cultural policy in the arena of international law. It affirms cultural values, and will facilitate greater support for creative industries in the developing world.
The UKCCD is:
- A consultative partner to UNESCO-UK and the UK government on the implementation of the aims of the 2005 Convention
- A founding member of the International Federation of Coalitions for Cultural Diversity, the largest civil society organisation with observer status on the Intergovernmental Committee, IFCCD, which administrates the Convention.
- Linked through the IFCCD with a network of over 600 creators’ organisations throughout the world
