Audio-visual and Brexit

The UKCCD is monitoring the situation and advocating that the 2018 revised AVMS directive is transposed into UK law. This would help ensure that UK TV channels and audio-visual programmes can have continued access to EU markets.

The reasons for this are expressed in the UKCCD assessment the EU A-V Observatory report. Also for your information is the Brexit negotiating mandate where audiovisual is expressly excluded as it is in every trade agreement the EU signs to allow for cultural sovereignty in the setting of audio-visual policy.
